Class flooded by intertidal activity!

We have had lots of fun creating our own intertidal zone, complete with authentic looking creatures formed with plasticine. Wow! We have lots of talent and imagination in our class.

Hands on learning

We believe that children learn best when their learning is "hands on" and we certainly had this today!
A big thanks to Amy and her dad who brought three of their chickens to school.

Using ice-block sticks to show 36

It was hard to remember what number we were up to when we just counted single ice-block sticks. When we bundled the sticks into groups of ten, it was easier for us to count - and more accurate.

We have had a great time counting, representing, adding, subtracting and comparing different numbers.

Superclubs is Super Cool

Today we all logged on to Superclubs Plus. This is a great site for children to safely learn about using social internet sites within a protected environment. Our first focus us to achieve the White Star of Safety.

Swimming started today

We are practising freestyle swimming by making sure we blow bubbles, kick hard, and get a good rhythm going for our stroke. Look how hard we are working.
