I thought there may be several children who are fans of these authors and may like to meet them this year.
I took my sons to meet Derek Landy two years ago. They were thrilled. They thought that meeting a real author was 'cool' and we all know there's no higher praise!

Best-selling Australian author Andy Griffiths will be in store at The Children's Bookshop in Kilbirnie Plaza on May 8th from 4pm to 4.30pm to meet his readers and sign books.
This event is free of charge and all of Andy's fans and readers are welcome to attend.

Thanks Andrea - Joe is a big a fan of Andy Griffith and I notice Joe has brought a Derek Landy book home from school too. I listened to an interesting interview on National Radio today...Jim Mora interviewed Andy Griffith and it was fascinating to hear his reasoning behind the way he writes his books. He thinks that often childrens authors like to 'play it safe' and not introduce the real and scary content that children like to question. There are some great lessons in his books - and the underdog usually comes up trumps.
